South Witham Archaeological Group's (S.W.A.G.) was formed in 1997 to promote an interest in the village and especially the Knight Templar Preceptory.

South Witham Archaeological Group announces the launch of their latest book and CD. The book is titled ‘South Witham - Stone Age to Space Age’, and includes a CD which has an electronic version of the book and family history information such as parish records. It has been funded by a grant from the Local Heritage Initiative and has taken two years to produce, and it is free to every house in the parish. The book has been written by members of South Witham Archaeological Group, with contributions by villagers and others.
